EVTEKS Broke a Record PDF Print E-mail

EVTEKS welcomed buyer delegations from Iraq, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the UK, France, the Ukraine and Syria, Germany, Italy, Iran, Greece and Russia. As prices has gone up and the quality has gone down  in China, Japanese companies which were not satisfied with Chinese products, preferred Turkey for home textile.

Ceyda Erem, Board Chairwoman of CNR Holding, said that the total business volume created within 5 days during EVTEKS, was more than USD 2,5 billion and added “EVTEKS has got a great share in our mission of making a commercial contribution to Turkey’s 500 billion exports objective for 2023.”

The world’s second largest home textiles exhibition, EVTEKS Istanbul Home Textiles Exhibition, organised for the 17th time this year broke the visitor record. The fair welcomed 116.163 visitors in total of which 31.110 were international visitors and 85,057 were local visitors at CNR Expo Center, Istanbul.

Ceyda Erem, Board Chairwoman of CNR Holding, indicated that EVTEKS left its mark on the industry as it has achieved a great leap especially in the total number of visitors as purchasers and added, “This year we had a very productive fair. We once again had the chance to witness the power of the Turkish home textile industry in the world. We broke a new record not only in terms of business volume but also in terms of the number of visitors. We had a total of 116,163 visitors, of which 31,110 were international and 85,057 were local visitors.

Compared with the 2010 figures, there was a 35% increase in the number of local visitors and almost a 70% increase in the number of international visitors. The first five countries that visited EVTEKS with the highest number of participants are Germany, Italy, Iran, Greece and Russia. They were followed by Iraq, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the UK, France, the Ukraine and Syria.”

Japanese companies now head for Turkey for home textile

Erem emphasized that middle and long term agreements were signed during the fair and said that the 17th Istanbul Home Textiles Exhibition welcomed purchasers from all over the world. Erem added that 11 Japanese companies placed orders worth millons of dollars as prices in China has gone up and quality has gone down. Among purchasers, there were large scale companies such as Galeries La Fayette and Zara Home and visitors such as the International Design Manager of Starbucks. Numerous interesting and new products met prospective customers. The following companies attended EVTEKS and placed orders; La Rosa Home Collection and Daniel Hetcher Home (Germany), StyleTrade (Finland), El Corte Ingles (Spain), Manor(Switzerland), Iran Merinos (Iran), Decostar S.A. ve Roditi Maria (Greece), ADM Baches and Boelaert -Moens BVBA (Belgium), Stefan Zweig (Austria), Kotex (Bulgaria), Modern (Egypt), Gazzaz, La Masion Simons Inc, Al Moussawi Trading Co.(Saudi Arabia).
